Microbiota ocular y cirugía de cataratas

Uno de los principales riesgos para los pacientes sometidos a cirugía de cataratas es la infección intraocular.

Esto puede provocar problemas graves, incluida la pérdida de la visión. En este contexto, la evaluación de la microbiota ocular puede ser útil para prevenir tales complicaciones.

Un estudio reciente ha demostrado que el pretratamiento con antibióticos puede afectar la composición de la microbiota ocular y su respuesta a la infección postoperatoria.

Por lo tanto, la identificación adecuada de la microbiota ocular puede ayudar a identificar pacientes en riesgo y personalizar el tratamiento antibiótico pre y postoperatorio.
